本國際學位專班成立於105學年，設置宗旨在落實我國水族產業國際化軟實力升級，提升產業國際競爭力。除培育具國際實務經驗之觀賞魚產業人才外，並藉此強化我國觀賞魚科技產業在觀賞魚育種、機能性飼料開發、水族器材、活魚運輸、水族文創設計、觀賞魚生產醫學、水族疾病監控與檢測、觀賞魚用疫苗等專門領域。
The International Degree Program was established in the 2016 academic year with the aim of enhancing Taiwan’s ornamental fish industry’s global competitiveness and upgrading its soft power in internationalization. In addition to cultivating talent with practical international experience in the ornamental fish industry, the program seeks to strengthen Taiwan’s expertise in various specialized fields, including ornamental fish breeding, functional feed development, aquaculture equipment, live fish transportation, aquatic cultural and creative design, ornamental fish production medicine, aquatic disease monitoring and detection, and ornamental fish vaccines.

為使畢業生能無縫接軌國際企業或國內國際化企業，藉由英國斯特靈大學、挪威生命科學大學、日本宮崎大學、日本東京海洋大學、美國康乃爾大學等國際知名大學師資與本校優勢水族(觀賞魚)繁養生物技術、觀賞魚水族疾病防治、生產醫學、觀賞魚運輸行銷之現有跨領域師資(獸醫學系、動物疫苗科技研究所、企業管理系、時尚設計與管理系)組成「觀賞魚科技教學研究團隊」，所擔綱成立之「觀賞魚科技及水生動物健康國際學位專班」，規劃「觀賞魚育種繁養殖技術研發」、「觀賞魚器材與系統研發」、「觀賞魚產業行銷」、「觀賞魚疾病診斷及疫苗研發」四項職能強化課程，為本專班未來發展且最具特色之重點。
To ensure that graduates can seamlessly integrate into international enterprises or domestically internationalized companies, the International Program in Ornamental Fish Technology and Aquatic Animal Health was established. This program brings together esteemed faculty from renowned institutions such as the University of Stirling (UK), Norwegian University of Life Sciences, Miyazaki University (Japan), Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology (Japan), and Cornell University (USA). Collaborating with our university’s experts in ornamental fish breeding and cultivation, aquatic animal disease prevention, production medicine, and ornamental fish transportation and marketing, the program offers a multidisciplinary approach. Faculty from the Department of Veterinary Medicine, Graduate Institute of Animal Vaccine Technology, Department of Business Management, and Department of Fashion Design and Management contribute to this comprehensive educational experience. The program focuses on four key areas to enhance professional competencies: Development of Breeding and Cultivation Techniques for Ornamental Fish Design and Innovation of Equipment and Systems for Ornamental Fish Marketing Strategies within the Ornamental Fish Industry Diagnosis of Ornamental Fish Diseases and Vaccine Development
